Cute Christmas bulletin board

On a happier note :)
I am putting up a really cute bulletin board at school. Each student is bringing in their favorite Christmas picture and a paragraph describing why it is their favorite picture. I cut out squares of construction paper (representing a gift). The students decorate their squares to look like wrapping paper then tape their picture and paragraph on it. I have bows to attach to the top and we hang them on the bulletin board. It looks great! I love the pictures. Some are really funny: one boy has a picture of him at about 2 or 3 screaming on Santa's lap. Some are really meaningful: one girl has a picture of her whole family at Disney World. It was important b/c she survived a huge car wreck and had to have surgery - this was the celebration afterwards. It's really awesome. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. I think I might put one up too.

It's that time of year...

No I don't mean Thanksgiving or Christmastime... It's parent-teacher conference time! Since I'm taking classes and can't miss my "How to teach junior high math" class, I had to reschedule a lot of conferences. That means beginning conferences at 7:00am. Fun! That's ok though. Today I only go until 3:00pm (if they don't run late) and then I have class. But I miss the free dinner we get :P oh well. And of course my kids are so great that my conferences are going very smoothly - even ending early! So that's that.
Yesterday I had another midterm. It was hard. I really studied for it, but everyone was upset because there were things on the test that the teacher specifically said would not be, plus the questions were very poorly worded.
Yesterday was also my "nephew"s 4th birthday! I made him a Lightning McQueen birthday cake. I'll post a picture as soon as I can.
That's about all there is to report. One strange thing is that my boyfriend from high school sent me an e-mail yesterday. The last time I talked to him I told him I never wanted to talk to him again. That was about 8 or 9 years ago. Believe me it wasn't just a bad breakup I don't want to talk to you. We had actually broken up at least a year before I said this to him. Anyway Not sure how to respond to his e-mail.
Ok well I guess I should do something more productive between conferences. Like work on projects or grade or crochet. I'm teaching my kids how to crochet and they're doing a great job! I'll post pics of that too when I can. Have a good weekend!
